The Symptom Navigator is a way to find information in the Health Encyclopedia by starting with a symptom, like pain in the knee or a headache.

On the homepage click the human figure in the Symptom Navigator box. This will bring up a larger version of the human figure. Just below the figure you can click one of the links if you want to change the figure (man/woman, adult/child, or front/back).

Click on a part of the body and a box will appear then click on one of the topics in the box. This will take you to the Health Encyclopedia where you can read the definition and description of the topic you chose, other educational information, and possibly charts and images. If health care data is available for a particular condition or treatment there will be links in the “Health Outcome Data” box that you can click to learn more.
